Shelly was commissioned by ‘Moves’ festival, Sadler’s Wells and BBC Big Screens to create a piece for the festival.

Betwixt and Between explores choreography and narrative through small gestures and powerful glances. Created for exhibition, the piece allows narratives to develop over a long period of time letting tensions build before resolving once more.  The piece explores polar opposites co-existing together through the juxtaposition of horror and humour. The twins reflect this concept as ‘upright’ and ‘proper’ become downright sinister.

The Twins are both played by Polly Bowman who also composed and played the accompanying piano piece.
