Shelly was invited to create a piece for the NIKE 78 Exhibition.
For the exhibition she was given a pair of trainers and asked to challenge their function. When She looked at the trainers she had been given, she was struck by their
waffle style sole. She then discovered that Bill, Nike’s co founder invented the waffle style sole by pouring rubber into his wife’s waffle iron.
With the waffle sole as inspiration Shelly created ‘Strange Gold Shoes’.
She wrote the story in ten minutes as a stream of consciousness. The result is a script that reads like a children’s book for 4 yr olds and under, filled with one-liners and farts. Pretty eye opening.
The film stars Vivien Bridson, as ‘Bella’ and Captain David Hocker, as ‘Bob’. Gerard Bell is the narrator and the Nike trainers star as the strange gold shoes.
This film is a NO budget but was made with generous support from 2am Films and a team of outlandish friends up for some fun on the farm. |
