‘A charming love story inspired by the mating rituals of birds and humans’
Delia and George is a Place Dance Film Commission and was made whilst Shelly was Associate Artist at The Place in 2002-2004.
The film is the first in a series of films which were devised and choreographed to run entirely backwards, other films in this series include ‘POD’ and ‘Film’. Shelly performs in the film alongside Gerard Bell. To devise the work Shelly and Gerard worked with newspaper as the source of inspiration for the choreography, character and story development.
Delia and George has screened at numerous dance, art and film festivals worldwide and was reworked for and broadcast on
Channel 4.
